a very very beautiful short of Ilulissat, Greenland where filmmakers Glen Milner and Ben Hilton witness Greenland’s first dawn of the year.
this video is extremely well edited. it’s able to transmit message of the environment, hope, future, society n survival in less then a minute.
some interesting stats from the shoot:
Affect of changing climate Ice depleting by up to 15 meters (49 feet) per year in Ilulissat, meaning 20 billion tons of iceberg break off and pass out of the Ilulissat fjord annually.
Hours of darkness per day while filming 21.
Days of total darkness per year 43.
Average sunlight per year On balance, 1,878 sunshine hours––approximately 5.1 sunlight hours per day.
The Last Goodbye by The Kills. directed by Samantha Morton Helms.
2 things i like in one - photo booth + black & white.
a very facial expression/emotion driven music video. when i just watch the video without reading the ‘direction’ behind, i didn’t connect with the expression/art direction of the video. only after reading it n replay the video tht i felt it being beautiful.
nonetheless, it is beautifully framed and both of them are amazing as a duo. one can feel the chemistry between them.
beautiful portrait, amazing piece of music. well done jamie n alison.
i’m always amuse n really fascinated when having the chance to see the ‘behind-the-scene’ process. it’s amazing to see a huge raw chocolate sculpture with rough edges n scratches can turned into a beautifully, elegant heart shape delicious (visually) chocolate. of course much credit to the tender love, attention, passion of the creator, Patrick Roger.
“I eat between 40 and 60 chocolates a day,” confesses Patrick Roger, the Vendôme-born chocolate artist. “Am I sick of it? Of course not. It’s like being in love—do you ever get sick of it?”
